Marble-lous Romblon: Things to Do in Romblon Island
I luckily had the chance to take advantage of 2go's "5piso fare" (however you wanna call it) and managed to grab round trip tickets from Batangas to Romblon for just 560 pesos!
And if you manage to snag a deal as great as that, here's a few tips so you can fully enjoy this awesome island...
Romblon is an archipelagic province in the Philippines that belongs to MIMAROPA Region, and has 3 main islands: Romblon, Tablas, and Sibuyan.

How To Get To Romblon
By sea. Aside from 2go, Montenegro Lines also has Batangas-Odiongan routes via Batangas Port. There are other smaller shipping lines that offer trips, and you can just check it once you get to Batangas Port. People coming from Roxas or Caticlan may also ride ferries.
Manila to Romblon
By Air. Airlines like PAL and Cebu Pacific also flies to the neighboring island of Tablas. From there, you will need to take an hour of ferry ride to reach Romblon Island.
From the port, you can go to Romblon plaza by foot. Romblon Island is so small, its so easy to roam around the town that you'd think you lived here your whole life.
THINGS TO DO:
What's so special about Boknoy's siopao? The sauce - it's already inside. (Now that's what you call secret sauce. lol.) Aaand, considering that it actually tastes good, it is also cheap - for just10pesos, busog ka na. Overall, food in Romblon is really presyong-probinsya.
WHERE TO STAY
You wont have any problem with your accommodation because Romblon offers a lot of budget-friendly hotels/inns. From the town proper alone, there are more than 10 affordable lodging houses.
The list includes:
Parc Bay Mansion is conveniently situated just right across the harbor and near shopping center and carinderias and restaurant.
The best part is that their rooms offer a great view of the harbor.
BEACHES IN ROMBLON
The thing about unassuming towns is that they seem to offer the most relaxing escape. and I'm glad that most beaches that we visited in Romblon barely had other visitors, so it's like we have the place all to ourselves. Here are the beaches we visited.

Manila to Romblon
- Ride a bus bound for Batangas Port which should take more or less two hours and would cost you somewhere around 130-150 pesos depending on the bus line and your location (Cubao or Buendia Terminal)
- You may book your tickets in advanced or purchase tickets from there. Fares range from 900 to 1500 pesos
- Pay the terminal fee of 30pesos
Tips for your Trips:
- You can purchase the cheapest 2GO ticket online then upgrade to a better accommodation once you get to the boarding area. This is cheaper because by the time of your boarding, they'll be putting the slots on sale. This, however, is not guaranteed if you book during peak season.)
- I personally recommend that you book online - you never know if there are promos, and this applies too if you're headed there during the holidays.
